Hopin Acquires Boomset, Expands Into Hybrid Events

Continuing its recent acquisition streak, Hopin has just announced its acquisition of Boomset in order to provide an end-to-end solution for event organizers, whether they’re planning virtual, hybrid, or in-person events.

This move will allow Hopin to continue to compete with other event tech providers, most of which already have robust onsite offerings that were in place before they pivoted to virtual last year.

Hopin, which began as a purely virtual platform, has largely dominated the virtual event space throughout the pandemic and was valued – potentially a bit unrealistically – at $5.65 billion after its latest investment round in March of this year.

Over the past six months, Hopin has acquired networking app Topi, streaming platform StreamYard, and most recently, video technology companies Streamable and Jamm.

This latest acquisition of Boomset will allow Hopin to provide onsite services such as badging, self-service kiosks, cashless payments, and more robust data analytics including session attendance and full event demographics.

As unified event data becomes more important than ever, providing organizers with a single source of truth for their attendee and sponsor data will be key.

Hopin has certainly been growing rapidly as it expands its offerings in an effort to better serve planners, and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
