Livestreaming has not just become a viable option for music festivals in the Covid-19 era, it is becoming an important part of the event itself, as companies like YouTube have secured the rights to cover Coachella when it resumes in 2022.
The AEG Presents-promoted Firefly music festival takes place at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Delaware, from September 23 through September 26, featuring headliners Billie Eilish, Diplo, Marc Rebillet and Roddy Ricch, among others. The promoters teamed up with Mandolin, a leader in digital fan engagement for the music industry, to present an exclusive free livestream of the event.
As the festival’s official live streaming partner, Mandolin will provide current users instant access to the show, but new fans can easily tune in for free by creating a Mandolin account.
Firefly VP and Music Festival Director Stephanie Mazzano was bullish on the virtual experience: “We are really excited to be partnering with Mandolin for this year’s livestream and can't wait for Firefly fans around the world to enjoy the show on the best platform in the market."
In addition to interactive streaming, including fan control of 360 multicam views on select stages, Mandolin will also offer virtual VIP Meet and Greets with select artists on the line-up via its VIP Suite, a new addition to Mandolin’s Live+ platform.
AEG Presents and Mandolin previously partnered in the virtual concerts space to stream, “A Night at the Ryman with Lauren Daigle and Friends,” earlier this year.
Mandolin CEO and Co-Founder Mary Kay Huse was pumped for the collaboration: “Firefly Music Festival is going to be such a special event for fans: an incredible line-up, an incredible location—we’re so excited to help bring that experience to fans worldwide. With Mandolin, fans at home will be able to feel like they’re there and fans at the event will be able to find new and cool ways to engage with artists.”
