The inaugural celebration of the Profile Awards will take place at 7pm, after the ABTT Theatre Show on the June 6 at the Alexandra Palace Theatre in London.
Created and coordinated by Durham and Jennie Marenghi in association with the ABTT, the ALPD and the STLD, the Awards recognize lighting design excellence.
With financial support from manufacturers including Ayrton, ChamSys, ELP, LCR, Light Initiative, Roxxlight, Version 2 Lights, Chauvet Professional, Elation Lighting, ETC, Fix8, GLP, TSL, SLX and Vari-Lite, the awards are nominated for theatre and television in the UK, and a student virtual lighting design competition.
A special award for lifetime achievement is named for the late Richard Pilbrow and sponsored by Theatre Projects.
The celebration of the winners will take place at the theatre at Alexandra Palace after the ABTT Theatre Show, which takes place between 10am and 5pm on 6th June.
Student Virtual Lighting Design Award
Lighting design students and programmers from UK colleges are invited to create a two-minute animation using WYSIWYG 2023 or LD Capture visualization software. Students may use music of their choice in a 3D model of the Royal Albert Hall provided by Durham Marenghi and populated with an Ayrton fixture virtual rig.
