Hosted by LDI's Bill Digneit, the annual festival of new products, rubber ducks, and swag announcements kicked off at 8am December 8.
Visual Productions, ACT Entertainment booth 2808
Maarten Engels, managing director of Visual Productions based in the beautiful city of Haarlem in the Netherlands, introduced two new products:
CueCore3 is a DMX lighting controller designed for permanent or semi-permanent installations. As a standalone device, it provides four universes by default and is expandable up to 32 universes. Its robust, solid-state design ensures low maintenance and exceptional reliability that allows lighting engineers to “fit and forget” after programming. Additionally, CueCore3 can be monitored and controlled remotely via the Visual Productions Purple Cloud platform.
RdmNode is DMX512-A (ANSI E1.11) and RDM (ANSI E1.20) capable and will be compatible with RDM via network with a forthcoming update. RdmNode is also compliant with European Conformity (CE), Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), United Kingdom Conformity Assessed (UKCA) and U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations.
MOD Scenes booth 2500
Sara Hall, resident extrovert introduced some two new products and boasted they have the best candy at LDI. (Booth 2500 in case you missed it.)
Mod Scenes create professional scene panels that are easy to assemble, fire-rated, ship quickly, and available for rent or purchase. The newest panel is called Hyperbola, and the company is also showcasing the DMX Pixel hoist featuring 38’ lift height, controlled via any standard DMX console, 5 pin and 3 pin plugs, and providing RGB and pixel control.
Madrix booth 2627
Also known as Mr LED Goodness, Christian Hertel from Madrix introduced the new Madrix 5.7 OSC, a powerful yet simple control product for creative LED lighting. Made in Germany, the remote controller can be seen at booth 2529 and 2627 witn Inner Circle Distribution. In use in Vegas nightclubs including OMNIA, Zook and Drai's, it now has scheduling and a calendar, 5.7 bridges the gap between the cue list and timeline, offering automated effects.
Patrick Murphy of the International Laser Display Association (ILDA)
Dedicated to making laser shows safer, ILDA released the Category A Laser Show Standard limiting beams to 6 watts, baning unterminated beams, and offering training. Our goal was to give the FDA a standard to make variances easier.
Today he announced the proposed Category B, which now includes audience scanning, does not require any special equipment and offers a seimple measure to calculate irradiance on people. Go to ILDA.com for more information on Category A and email mail@ilda.com for more information on Category B.
Minuit Une booth 2247 and meeting room- W110
Two years ago Minuit Une released IVL PHOTON at LDI. This year brings IVL Dice. With a compact housing, two motorized outputs, and four tilts, it will fill space with a new scale of volumetric design. It comes with an easy to install kit, adapting to various venue configuration it does not need an FDA permit and has a service warranty extension of five years with direct support in the US.
Pangolin Systems booth 1907
Jordan Greck claimed he had not given a presentation to a crowd this big since his Bar Mitvah.
Founded in 1986 and partnered with KVANT in in 2014, Pangolin Laser Systems has a full QC and service center in Florida with 24/7 support. The Unity Lasers Elite series is weatherproof and FDA approved for audience scanning in the US with class 4 lasers. Visit them at the booth and scan a QR card for a chance to win a laser!
QuikSpot from Astera
Ben Diaz showed out the flexible features of QuikSpot which can be assembled in a few minutes, the beam can be changed from 30 to 60 degrees in a moment, it is 100% wireless with a 4.5 hour run time and comes with a PrepBox which goes directly in the flightcase. You can remove the yoke on the fixture to make it an uplight and it also comes with barn doors.
SPH Engineering booth 1928
Alex Levandosky helps customers start drone show businesses using his Drone Show Software, which will be on display on Monday 9 at 6.15 outside the convention center for a drone show spectacular. SPH Engineering has provided the software for shows featuring 2,500 and 5,000 drones, visit booth 1928 for the latest release, Drone Show SoftwareQ2 Update.
LumenRadio plug and play Stick and Orb booth 1347
Born in the saunas of Sweden, LumenRadio and partners Wireless Solutions provide the standard for wireless communication.
The entry level product released here is called Stick, a five pin attachment that plugs into the fixture, and Orb a tiny box on show at the A.C. Lighting booth 1347.
Jagoteq booth 1469
Craig Brink from Jagoteq arrived on stage weraring the latest product, a fiber optic cable illuminate with a laser. The illuminated cable can be made into any kind of wearable, line a stage, or cut and wrapped for almost any application. It is waterproof, easy to use, and doesn't require any kind of soldering so perfect for an architectural or entertainment purpose. It is also recyclable and can be reused for multiple applications and events.
Spotrack booth 1565
Liam Feeney came from Ireland to spread the word about Evolution V4, the latest remote follow spot control. As part of a drive to create a more inclusive control system, it is something anyone can use even with limited mobility with Bluetooth connectivity, a single cable, and control using a handlebar.
Schnick Schack Systems booth 2450
Solveig Bustler from the German manufacturer introduced Strip c12 -500cut. A 500mm unit cutable in increments of 12.5mm with 16 bit dimmable color that is open to all control devices via DVI, Art-Net, DMX512, and sACN.
The products are like Lego and slot together to create any shape or size, and all are made in Cologne with German engineering expertise. Visit Schnick Schnack at booth 2450 for this new product and some pink drinks!
ELC Lighting booth 1829
GreenGo Stride wireless antenna is a game changer because it is matrixless avoiding the problems of traditional intercom systems around a central matrix. It is easy to deploy and presented along with other tools that help you work smarter, not harder, at booth 1829.
Luminex booth 1347
Bart Swinnen introduced LumiCore, which will make your life easier by protecting all your IP addresses when you have guest designers using your rig for festivals and other events. LumiCore makes a set up for each guest keeping your network fully isolated, cutting down setup time and going up to 64 universes.
ApolloMFG USA booth 1307
Joel Nichols from Apollo is celebrating his 30th LDI. Known for gobos, they first introduced color mixing back in 1989 at LDI.
Apollo are introducing the 7mm glass micro gobo for smaller lights, and a diffusion gobo made from 100% frosted glass which diffuses and scatters heat.
Chauvet Professional booth 1653
Michael Graham introduced Strike V, an IP65 rated, 180 degree tilting, hybrid wash light with multilayer control allowing faster setup time and bigger effects at festivals and other large events.

Chamsys debuts the brand new MQ500+ console which offers 400 universes, eight monitors, motorized faders, backlit buttons and can be networked up to ten consoles. check it out at booth 1653 or lightlab W227.
find one of a thousand rubber ducks hidden around the show floor and post a pic and tag Chamsys for a chance to win a limited edition LDI Compact Connect giveaway. The presentation ended with the traditional rubber duck throw (no attendees were harmed in the making of this LDI Debut.)
VisioLite booth 1535
Carl Johnson introduced several new products including Vibrance, a four-channel DACI Deep Red/Cyan/Amber/Indigo Indoor Strip. Royal High is a five-channel RGB-TW strip with incredibly bright white light CRI 97, 2000k-4000k.

Lori Rubenstein outlined the health and wellness offerings in the Wellness Lounge from Cup of Coffee Yoga, to sessions on sleep, eating healthy on the road, bystander interventions in the workplace, NARCAN training, and many more.

Lightspace Pro-Laser booth 1403
Stephanie Houston, daughter of the founder Walt, has taken over the laser business with many new products available at the booth, along with hot sauce, a chance to win some Ray Ban sunglasses, and free T-shirts.
Follow Me Tracking booth 1347
The next generation of tracking solutions, Track-It Tags, now comes in black, and the weatherproof WP Anchor is available for up to 400 lights. The company has also introduced Wizard, which is a brief set up wizard to guide you step by step through the software.
Pathway Connectivity booth 2346
Robert Bell of Pathway Connectivity arrived onstage snapping his fingers to the Addams Family theme tune like an MVP baseball player to the mound. Snap+ is new this year for big beefy relays that need time clock and DMX and Pathscape Config.
See Pathway Connectivity in action at the Circle Bar where 16 people are programming 8 different consoles at the Battle of the Busk, the mediator is using PC's protocol router to switch between all the consoles.
PixMob booth 2443
PixMob bring joy to largescale events by lighting up audience members to make them part of the show canvas.
PixMob wearables were on display during the Olympics, painting a massive moving image of a dove and the Olympic Rings making a human video screen.
PixMob MVP can send a signal to every seat up to a 77,000 seat stadium, it is simple to program and an elegant way to include everyone in the fun. PixMob can map the entire stadium in one night with a video signal piped to our control kit. This summer MVP toured with Coldplay creating words in the audience.
