"I was shocked and saddened to read that Gordon Torrington has suddenly passed away.
Gordon has been a huge presence in so many people’s lives. He has certainly made an impact on my life and career.
What struck me over the years is how much he was respected and loved, by so many people, all around the world, for his self effacing, sharp wit, his generous spirit and his love of all things social!
Gordon was renowned for being brilliant at organising and running events, managing tech and motivating people.
Whether it was a night out on the town or a world class event, tour or festival they all got the same dedicated and detailed Gordon Torrington treatment.
He loved people, he loved music, he loved theatre and he loved the Royal Variety Show!
Gordon made people happy, he made them laugh - friends, colleagues, clients, employers, anyone he met really.
He worked hard and rarely put himself first."
