Theis Wermuth Joins DVT Light

Danish LED lighting manufacturer DVT Light welcomes Theis Wermuth as its new commercial director.

Based in Aarhus, Denmark, DVT Light is excited to bring Theis on board. Well-known as an international lighting and show designer via his design studio Create This, he also has a background working with leading professional lighting manufacturers.

DVT Light was founded in 2021 by Mikkel Bandholm and production industry legend Peter Johansen who has been inventing products for entertainment since the 1970s.

As commercial director, Theis will be focussing on sales, marketing, and building a distribution network to assist in helping to establish the brand globally. Theis will also energise an extensive network of contacts of lighting professionals.

He states, “I am thrilled to join DVT Light. It is a fantastic opportunity to work with such an innovative and dynamic team. I look forward to contributing to the company's growth and development and to strengthening our market position with many new and exciting products and initiatives.”

Theis explained that DVT Light is “actively working on expanding its product ranges for shows, events and architectural applications,” and he will be expanding the brand’s market presence both domestically and internationally.

DVT Light’s PJ and MB series, including the PJ-5 and PJ-2.5 LED wash fixtures, the 100,000-lumen MB-8 flood, and the compact MB-4 LED flood are built with advanced features like flicker-free operation and internal dehumidifiers to ensure top performance and Theis notes that this represents “just the start of our commitment to quality and fresh ideas.”

Chairman of DVT Light’s board, Brian Pedersen commented, “Having Theis as our new commercial director is a real investment, and he will be an invaluable resource to the brand with his strategic approach and deep understanding of the creative lighting industry. We are confident that Theis will further elevate our already successful operation.”

He adds that Theis’ skills include planning, lateral thinking, leadership, communication and a real passion for delivering top-quality solutions, all of which perfectly align with DVT Light’s values and future visions. “We look forward to a busy, productive and long-term working relationship.”

Several new products are currently in R&D and will be released soon, explained Theis.

These will be for multiple – and some crossover – applications including fixed installations, live shows and events, lighting for sets and scenery, audiences as well as for buildings, objects and spaces where large, even and rich amounts of different coloured lighting are needed to highlight a façade or architecture.

Theis and the DVT Light team will be showcasing current and new products at PLASA 2024 in London in September, where they will be looking forward to meeting new potential customers and specifiers.
