In the fast-paced world of entertainment lighting, ongoing product evolution and innovation is essential. This commitment to innovation and improvement entails more than just improvements in functionality however. New possibilities in performance open up for all-new designs and experiences, moving the industry forward into new realms of creative expression."
“At Elation, evolution in product design is consistently rooted in customer interaction in a direct link from the real-world market to our sales and R&D departments,” states Elation Product Manager Matthias Hinrichs “We encourage dialogue and the result is solutions that better meet designer, as well as rental/production company, requirements. In short, as market needs and preferences evolve, we adapt our products to provide ongoing value to our customers.”
A host of recent evolutions of previous Elation product models represent well this forward-moving ethos, next generation lighting solutions that raise performance and with it the dynamic nature of design.
Six+ Par and Six+ Bar: Updates to Elation’s established SixPar and SixBar series see improvements in color spectrum (RGBLA+UV), output, and quality of light (93 CRI). Other upgrades like CCT control, CMY Emulation, and Virtual Gel Swatch Book give designers unparalleled color customization and control.
Pulse Bar and Pulse Panel: A new Pulse line of high-impact strobe and visual effects offers multi-functionality as powerful strobe, bright blinder, high-output wash light or creative eye candy effects in one. RGB LEDs along its perimeter, cool-white LEDs at its center, and RGB LEDs at its core, all zone controllable, allow for tailored effect options while CCT control, CMY Emulation, and Virtual Gel Swatch Book give designers unparalleled color customization and control.
SŌL I: The first in a new series of creative LED blinder and effects solutions, SŌL I houses an RGBLAW array in a compact aesthetic and provides over 8,000 lumens of power. SŌL I features an ingenious modular design for endless possibilities in configuration and arrangement. Using simple fixture interconnects, threaded adapters, mounts and yoke accessories, designers can easily link SŌL I to other fixtures or devices, exponentially expanding creative options for unique shapes and arrays.
“Designers rely on Elation to be a trend setter for original solutions and these new series fulfil that expectation with features and options that allow designers to craft tailored visual experiences,” states Bob Mentele, Associate Product Manager at Elation. “By continually refining and updating our products with customizable features and options, we’re providing possibilities, something new that can help set a lighting designer apart and elevate their creative vision to new heights.”
Proteus evolution
Other series in Elation’s broad portfolio are reaping the benefits of ongoing product development, including the company’s pioneering Proteus series of IP-rated automated luminaires. In continual evolution since the first Proteus products hit the market in 2017, that trend continues with the latest launches in the series.
Product Manager Matthias Hinrichs emphasizes the importance of consistently evolving the Proteus line of products. “Proteus leads the market for IP-rated automated lighting not only because it is weatherproof but because we have continually developed and improved the line with features that designers find help them push the boundaries of creativity. Innovation has always been at the heart of the Proteus line and our latest solutions reflect that forward-thinking mentality.”
Proteus Hybrid MAX: This upgrade of the trailblazing Proteus Hybrid is sleeker, faster, brighter, and tougher than its groundbreaking predecessor. It boasts a category-best 22,000 lumens of brilliance and houses all-new technology like Fast Advanced Features (FAF), Tri-Tier Animation, and SpinSync tracking that make it a breakthrough evolution in lighting excellence.
Proteus Radius: In 2017, Elation won industry awards for being the first company to incorporate Phosphor source technology into a moving head and now the company has brought the technology to the next level. Powered by a 100W Solid State phosphor-converted light engine, the Proteus Radius delivers an ultra-intense 0.9˚ beam that slices through with unparalleled brilliance, even across vast distances. The powerful beam combines with a full complement of design features that allow the designer to compose an endless array of stunning aerial effects.
Proteus Odeon: The Proteus Odeon is a framing profile moving head with industry-first completely variable CRI LED engine. The innovative concept, called TruTone, is seamlessly adjustable from CRI 70 to 93, blending smoothly with no switching or stepping. By offering the flexibility to adjust color rendering, the Odeon can play a dual role in a single show, for example as a key light with high CRI in one scene and an effect light with high output in the next.
